In September, 2004, Jean Singleton Liechty, J. D., Founder of the
Silver Ribbon Campaign for the Brain, receives the highest
award given by the
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the
Rona and Ken Purdy Award, for her "tireless grassroots campaign"
in recognition of significant, national efforts to fight stigma
at the NAMI Annual Convention in Washington
D.C., before an audience of 2,200 advocates.
